Government recovered 111.000 bottles of adulterated alcohol
David Chiriboga, Ecuador’s Health Minister announced via Twitter that the Government has recovered more than 111,000 bottles of illicit liquor during a local campaign to take out of the market around fourteen brands of audulterade liquor with methanol.
However, the Ecuadorian Government supposed that just 22% of the liquor that is really circulating around the country has already been recovered.
Before starting this campaign, Chiriboga claimed that more than 500,000 liters of the illicit liquor were circulating in the market, which has left 50 people dead, 221 people poisoned and eleven has lost their full vision.
In contradiction with these data, the official website of the Ministry of Health reported that the purchase had been 87,057 units.
