The recount of votes did not alter the electoral figures according to the CNE
Posted On 11 Apr 2017

The recount of 296,340 votes requested by the CREO-SUMA alliance did not alter the electoral result of the presidential binomial made up of Lenin Moreno and Jorge Glas (AP), who won 51.15% of the national vote.
This was revealed by the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Juan Pablo Pozo, who notified the resolution yesterday with the data collected in 24 provinces of the country (including those of the review that took place at the weekend) and abroad, thereby opening the way for political organizations to file objections, challenges, and appeals.
The figures that Pozo showed on April 4, which he described as ‘irreversible’ were: Lenin Moreno with the 51.16% of votes, compared to Guillermo Lasso with the 48.84%.
Yesterday, after reinstalling the national hearing of counts and denying the appeal filed on April 7 by CREO-SUMA to 1,795 minutes, the CNE plenary approved these results: 51.15% for Moreno and 48.85% for Lasso.
